Substrate Selector

Three simple steps. That’s all it takes for the Plagron Substrate Selector to find the perfect substrate for your next grow. Find out which soil is right for you in less than thirty seconds by answering the questions below.

All our substrates fit a grow style: 100% NATURAL, 100% TERRA (for growing on peat), 100% COCO and 100% HYDRO (for growing hydroponic). When you know which substrate you want, you can download a grow schedule to see which base nutrients and additives we recommend to use on it. If you prefer a custom feeding chart, you can make one with our Grow Schedule Calculator.

1. Do you choose taste or yield for your harvest?
Do you prefer an end product with the best smell and taste or do you prefer the highest yield? This choice will determine your grow style and so your substrate.
Taste
Yield
2. Do you prefer many or fewer plants?
The plant density influences the choice of substrate. You need a substrate that is adjusted to the quantity of your plants.
Many
Few
2. Are you a starter or an expert grower?
If you are an inexperienced grower, we recommend a fertilised substrate because it is easier. For experts we recomment to fertilise a non-fertilised substrate yourself. This requires some experience but you are in full control.

3. Do you want to grow in a pre-fertilised soil?
If you are an inexperienced grower or if you like fast and easy results, we recommend a fertilised substrate. You need to fertilise a non-fertilised substrate yourself.
